First steps: from four students to number one
A rented hall, two courts, four students and €12,000 in the bank. This is how your career starts, and how to make the most of your first season.
This is where your story begins
Your career kicks off on January 4, 2027. First you create your manager: who they are, what they're good at, their style and their backstory. Then you choose where your academy is born.
And then reality hits: a rented hall with two courts, four beginner students and €12,000 in the bank. The kids train on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. No stars, no sponsors, no coaching staff. Everything is still to be built.
Your first week
- Let Vera show you around. The receptionist gives you a guided tour (and with F1 you can replay it whenever you like).
- Get to know your four students. Check their profile, their attributes and their personality. One of them might have more potential than meets the eye.
- Talk to them. The weekly talk is there to reassure, demand, be honest or make a promise. Get off on the right foot.
- Organize training. Pick the type of week and don't overload them: an injury now leaves you without a pair.
- Check the books. Your first goal is simple: finish a week in the black.
Six weeks of preseason
The season starts with six weeks of preseason. Use them to get your players in shape, try out pairs and decide who plays with whom. What you do here shows in your first competitions.
Your roadmap as a founder
The game sets you goals so you always know what the next step is: your first week in the black, your first coach, filling up the school groups… and, at the end of the road, having the world number one.
The competition ladder
Your players start at the bottom and climb step by step:
| Step | What it is |
|---|---|
| Amateur league | 10 team divisions, two phases per season |
| Youth series | For your youngest players |
| Local Opens | Six dates per season: your first draw to conquer |
| National Opens | Four dates; you need ranking points to get in |
| International Opens | Two dates, for the ones already breaking through |
| The Máster | The big tournament of the year |
| Elite world circuit | Where the best in the world play |
On top of that, the Academy Cup pits eight academies against each other in team knockout rounds throughout the season.
Grow step by step
Once the first money comes in, every decision counts: another court to rent out more hours? A coach to fill up the school? Better lighting in the hall to train better? Later on come the café, the shop, the residence, the hotel… and up to four more sites in other countries.
Once you have a pair with real quality, enter them in the Opens and start racking up ranking points. And don't forget the other half of the job: winning matches from the bench.
